I get orgasmic!

At the thought of Dick Cheney getting THIS "tap on the shoulder" someday.

Well, I'm for taking up a collection right now to send all those people on an all-expenses-paid European vacation.

Bush says he wants to attend the Olympics this summer in China. You think maybe China might play along? :)

I bet they all monitor their travel plans very closely.

@ Philly - no... we owe them too much money.

And, isn't it all too embarrassing that we have to rely on the Euros to do our dirty laundry? Fucking hell, these guys are criminals and we barely raise a stink. Certainly our "LIBERAL" Democrats would never dream of impeaching. Some one should start by impeaching Pelosi for her "it's off the table" statement as soon as the 2007 Congress came in.

Yikes! You're starting to sound like me.

I'm not sure that the International community will try to prosecute these guys anytime soon. They may have tried a Chilean citizen under international law, but it's another matter to try a US citizen. I'm not saying it should be another matter, but it is.

For one thing the US is a more powerful state and has more clout for negotiations. For another, while many US citizens would welcome the prosecution, many more would take offense at Europe holding our ex-political leaders for these crimes (which they probably don't consider crimes), especially with someone still respected like Colin Powell. I think even some of the people who dislike the current administration still won't take kindly to an international trial and be more of the opinion that we should take care of business here and invalidate the law that gives them indemnity rather than have the world court take care of our dirty business for us.

I'm sure there are European leaders and citizens that would love to make a statement about these crimes, so maybe eventually. But, I think it'll take the US public completely turning on this administration for it to happen.

In other words, let's see how history views these events and what comes out of it in another 5-10 years.

It's fun to daydream about it, but, as OG noted, it's not too likely.

I was going to say that Pelosi and Reid have been pathetic party leaders but I'm not sure that's true. I think they've been too clever and have been playing a game of "let's blame the Republicans for all the shit that's happened and win big in 2008." That's a risky strategy that may well backfire on them. I hope it doesn't, but it just may happen.

You're not the first one from whom I've heard the argument that Pelosi and Reid are strategizing. But that sounds a lot like Christian apologetics; empty, wishful thinking.

Those two just suck as leaders.

If they had any leadership ability at all, they would have firmly put it to Hillary Clinton -- in secret of course -- that she should immediately stop working for the Republicans in undermining Barack Obama's future candidacy.

Thanks to Chappy and, especially, OG for the nice cold shower. Works every time.
