This blog post by KargoX today in The Daily Kos just about says it all. Well, not really, because you could write a book about what has happened to our country since Bush and Cheney came into power, followed by the tragic events on September 11, 2001. This is what America has come to. Every time we fail to speak out about it, we ARE the problem. The truth is, we have nothing to fear but ourselves.

I want to know how they got a picture of Jenna's illegitimate child in there.
We'll never know most of the shit that the Bush administration has perpetrated on this country. Moreover, it's highly unlikely that Bush and/or Cheney will ever be held accountable for their actions.
Ex: What gave you the idea that the kid belongs to Jenna? Does the photo indicate that he's learning his body language from Grandpa?
Chappy, I'm not all that found of retribution. Don't get me wrong, there is certainly a place for it in terms of how it helps correct a present inequity. But much more important to me than punishing Bush (or anyone in his administration) is returning our country to Constitutional rule and doing the right things from this point forward.
This is why I personally believe that the coming elections are so important. We have a chance to make a statement that what has happened is wrong. Now, that's no guarantee that things will be made right. But it is a step in the right direction and away from the darkness.
John Evo - I'm not calling for retribution. Justice would be nice, though. Otherwise, my Sicilian blood may start calling for vengeance! ;)
I believe the coming elections may well be the most important ones in my lifetime and I agree that our first priority is to restore government that actually governs according to the Constitution. Part of the means to achieve this is to remind the populace that the Bush administration has not been merely inept or misguided, it has been corrupt. The incoming administration is going to have a helluva mess to clean up before it can actually achieve anything positive. Does the country have the patience to endure the clean-up process? Probably not.
I'm long over hating Bush and Cheney. Look, there are people who will take whatever others will let them.
@ Chappy - unfortunately, using the word justice is really just a way of comforting our higher consciousness about getting retribution. Think about it.
@ Philly - I don't know that I'm over it. I know I'd be thrilled to see the Congressional Sergeant-at-Arms lead a squad of agents into the White House to take them both out in cuffs. I like to think it's not so much about retribution as making a statement about who we are and what we WILL NOT stand for. But, as well as I know my darker side, I'd probably enjoy the "justice".
At least he also indicted Congress for doing absolutely nothing except roll over and pout.
Which is why my anger is more at Congress than Bush and Cheney. Anyone ever watch the Dog Whisperer? You can't fault dogs for being dogs. If Congress won't correct them, of course they'll shit on the rug and chew up the Constitution. They're fucking dogs!
Congress frustrates me like the idiot dog owners on that show.
And that's why I say "we" are the problem, because no part of the Federal Government is more "we" than Congress. Everyone hates Congress, except their own Congressman, who is always just right.
Regardless of whether we call it justice, retribution or vengeance, the fact is that none of it is going to happen.
I agree that this "Democratic" Congress has been infuriating, with its inaction and whining that their majority isn't big enough to do anything. What a load of bullshit. They haven't done anything because they're far more interested in playing for political points in the coming elections than they are in governing - a strategy that could still backfire on them. What a bunch of jerks.
I vote for retribution, the real old-fashioned kind, the Biblical and Roman kind. A bogus Guantanamish trial, execution of the perps, their families into permanent exile, their money and property and lands taken from them. We are talking about professed Christians here, Armageddonist Christians at that. Live by it, die by it. These people are thugs, nothing more. And I'd be willing to throw Congress, with a few exceptions, into the same mix of savage retribution. It's probably a good thing I'm not the dictator Bushbaby wants to be.
For Ric
Wow, that looks like quite a book
Very interesting indeed. Bugliosi was the D.A. who tried and won convictions on the Manson Family here in L.A.
In the comments section at Amazon, some turd wrote -
"If Bush is charged with Homicide then we should also charge Bugliosi with Treason."
Naturally, I handled him.
Naturally, I handled him.
And a good job doing so, too. I see no-one thought his remark was helpful, while everyone thought yours was.
I may have to pick up that book.
Thank you, SI. Meanwhile, I just ordered it from Amazon. I probably would have waited, but I told my wife about it this morning and she asked me to go ahead and purchase it.
I may get that book. Bugliosi did a good job with Helter Skelter years ago.
I always motivated by you, your views and way of thinking, again, appreciate for this nice post.
