Why I voted for Obama

This is exactly why. It wasn't that I blindly thought he was going to be some savior of America or that I would love everything he would do. But after 8 years of darkness in just about every conceivable area of governance, we will finally at least get back on the right track. Whether the train can actually move and gather steam is yet to be seen.

Obama has drafted some good players onto his team so far. I hope they'll be able to play the game when the puck is dropped on January 20.

Sounds great until you think about one thing...we are celebrating appointments that should be common sense! We shouldn't have to write posts about how great is is that our next President is going to favor science over politics as this should have been happening the last eight years. I don't understand how the far right is satisfied with ignorance. But your point still stands, I cannot wait to see all of Bush's executive decisions based on ignorance overturned.

You're both right. And, yeah DB, there is no reason to be overly excited about reason and rationality being the foundation of a Presidency.

Except that we haven't had it in 8 years...

It's worth watching Obama's announcement of these picks.

I take your point, DB, but I'd answer back: Take nothing for granted.
